Mark Allen took a massive step towards the Coral Tour Championship final, storming to a 7-1 lead over Mark Selby in Milton Keynes.
The pair will return at 7pm for the concluding session, with Allen just needing two more frames to reach the final.
This is 2018 Masters champion Allen’s seventh semi-final of the season, but he is yet to make a final. Selby will require a monumental fightback to deny Allen achieving that this week. The winner will progress to face Stephen Maguire for the title on Friday, with a top prize of £150,000 on the line.
World number five Allen ruthlessly stormed out of the traps this afternoon. Breaks of 92, 54, 76 and 80 saw him take a clean sweep of the frames prior to the mid-session, leading 4-0.
After the break things got worse for three-time World Champion Selby, as Allen increased his lead to 6-0. Selby did get a frame on the board, but breaks of 48 and 42 saw Allen secure the last frame of the session to lead 7-1.
