Betfred, sponsor of the World Snooker Championship, will donate £200 for every century break made during this year’s 17-day tournament to WST’s official charity Jessie May Children’s Hospice at Home.

The action at the Crucible Theatre in Sheffield starts on Saturday morning and runs until May 2nd. Chasing the title are 32 of the best players on the planet, including Mark Selby, Judd Trump, Ronnie O’Sullivan, Neil Robertson, Kyren Wilson and John Higgins.

Jessie May Children’s Hospice at Home, based in Bristol, is WST’s official charity partner. They provide a hospice at home service for terminally ill children, offering care to families in the South West area.

If the total number of centuries reaches 80, then Betfred will round up the donation to £25,000.

Fred Done, Boss of Betfred, said: “I am delighted once again to make this donation to Jessie May because they are a fantastic charity and the work they do for children and their families is incredible. And I know I can rely on the players to make the big breaks as last year we had a record 108 centuries. The Betfred World Championship is one of my favourite sporting events of the year and I can’t wait to see who will be lifting the trophy this year.”
