Ronnie O'Sullivan has confirmed his six favourite sportspeople and has left one of Lionel Messi and Cristiano. Ronaldo out.

Speaking to Betfred following his Round One win in the World Championship, the six-time world champion was asked which sportspeople he admires, with him leaving out one of football's greatest ever players when he reeled off six names who are the "best of the best". He was asked: "We've just spoken about sportsmen, what sportsmen and sportswomen do you admire?"

The world number one replied: "I like the best, you know, the best of the best. I'm a [Ayrton] Senna fan, Tiger Woods, Tyson Fury is kind of in that mould I suppose, Lionel Messi, Roger Federer, [Novak] Djokovic. Them type of people I respect and I admire."

Ronaldo fans will be left shocked by the Rocket's refusal to include the Manchester United star in his top six sportspeople. The 46-year-old went on to discuss Tyson Fury in more depth as he is sure that he will win when he comes up against Dillian Whyte on Saturday, April 23 at Wembley Stadium.

He said: "I'll be watching Tyson Fury. He's a fantastic character, great sportsman and what a story, what a bloody story. It just shows you what a human can achieve. I have no doubts [he'll win]. Anyone that does doubt him I'm like 'really?'.

"He's 6ft 9in with a massive reach, floats around on his feet and he hurts you. When he leans on you he's tiring you out. Who is there to get near him? There's no one, he's not going to get beat is he unless he decided to put a bit of weight on, don't train and get lazy and yeah, he'll get beat but if he trains and does what he usually does yeah, he'll just win."

The snooker legend was open with his opinions on both his top sportspeople and how certain he was that Fury will beat White when they come face-to-face on Saturday. O'Sullivan is aiming for a record-equalling seventh Crucible crown following his win over David Gilbert after he came from behind to beat him 10-5.
