Mark Selby, represented by Scott Edwards, booked his place in the final of the Virtual Betfred World Championship with a dramatic 3-2 win over Mark Williams.
In Monday’s final, Selby will meet John Higgins or Kyren Wilson. The winning gamer will come to the real-life Crucible to receive the trophy in this brand new event.
Selby came from 1-0 and 2-1 down to level at 2-2. In the deciding frame, Williams, represented by Lee Cordrey, had a chance to clear the table but crucially missed the yellow off the last red when trailing 49-44.
Selby potted yellow, green and brown then fired a superb long pot on the blue to a top corner to go 19 points ahead. Williams battled in vain for a snooker but when Selby slotted in the pink his final berth was secured.
Higgins and Wilson meet on Saturday at 10am. For more details about the tournament click here.
