Many of snooker’s top players and referees have paid tribute to Alan Chamberlain, who sadly passed away this week.
Chamberlain was a leading referee on the main tour for nearly 30 years and also spent time as a director of the WPBSA.
Comments on social media from his colleagues in snooker include:
Absolutely devastated to hear that Alan Chamberlain has passed away. He was one of the guys that took me under their wing when I first started refereeing back in 2004. Thoughts are with his family at this sad time #RIPChambo

Very sad to hear Alan Chamberlain has died. He passed his first referee’s exam in 1965 and retired in 2014. That’s some service to the sport. Always good company too.
