With the first round over at the Coral Tour Championship in Milton Keynes, the number of possible winners of the 2020 Coral Cup and the £100,000 bonus has been reduced from eight down to two.
The cup and bonus goes to the player winning the most prize money across the three-event series which also includes the Coral World Grand Prix and Coral Players Championship.
Heading into the last event, all eight players were in with a chance. But when front-runner Judd Trump won his opening match and added £40,000 to his total, that ended the hopes of several others in the field.
The only player who can snatch the bonus from Trump now is Stephen Maguire. The Scot must beat Trump in today’s semi-final and then win the final to take the £150,000 top prize, which would also give him the Coral Cup.
The other two semi-finalists, Mark Selby and Mark Allen, are too far behind Trump to have a chance.
Coral Cup Rankings, as it stands:
Judd Trump £172,000
Stephen Maguire £70,000
Mark Allen £55,000
Mark Selby £55,000
Coral Tour Championship prize money
